Seegrun was born in 1944 in the north of Germany. She studied "Visuelle Komminikation" at the art college of Hamburg, was student of Prof. Michel and Bazon Brock. After her graduation she worked as a teaching materials designer and painter.

Since 1985 she has been living at the Algarve. The life in Portugal, the beauty of the nature, the feeling of the sea, the plants , the animals giving her a renewed inspiration to her creativity. During the nineties she worked mainly with watercolours: landscapes with resolved structures flying fields and mountains, disconnected spots of colours resulted in lightness and transparency.

During the first years of 2000 her subject became "Dance", the material: oil on canvas. Drawings were made in the darkness of dance theatres: papers on her lap, working with both hands simultaneously, to capture the movements on paper,then the transfer to canvas. During the last years the challenges were more based on oil paintings to find the balance between forms, colours and the surface. Different tools like brushes, spatulas, even fingers and hands were welcome. The surface seemed treated like scrubbed, rubbed, kneaded, stroked, scratched. Seegrun has taken part in numerous exhibitions in Portugal, Germany and Sweden, individual as well as collective shows.
