Takae Nitahara was born in Okayama, Japan and graduated from Musashino Art College, Tokyo, and also studied at Art College of Rio de Janeiro, Brasil. She is a member of the Watercolour Association of Japan, and the Japan Artists Association
Blue sky, breaking waves, endlessly wide fields, blooming flowers and warm hearts of my friends. These are the warm welcome from this country to me and they have given strong stimuli to me for my paintings. Based on this, I have drawn the pictures freely according to my heart and showed them in my exhibition in Japan wishing that my friends in Japan would also understand and love Portugal. I would like to introduce Japanese traditional culture through my paintings to these friends who live in this country. It is a great delight to me to find how I could express Japan and how I could express Portugal through my paintings and also to find out how you would accept them.
O céu azul, as ondas quebrando, os campos sem fim, as flores desabrochando e o coraçõa afectuoso dos meus amigos. Este foi o caloroso acolhimento deste país, que me deu um forte estímulo para as minhas pinturas. Deste modo, eu realizei os meus quadros livremente, de acordo com o meu coração e apresento-os na minha exposição no Japão esperando que os meus amigos no Japão possam também compreender e amar Portugal. Eu gostaria de apresentar na minha pintura a cultura tradicional japonesa, aos meus amigos que vivem neste país. É um grande prazer para mim tentar exprimir o Japão e Portugal nas minhas pinturas e descobrir como os meus quadros vão ser recebidos pelos meus amigos.
