After studying Fine Arts at Wolverhampton and Ravensbourne Colleges of Art and Design, she worked on the Greater London Council Playgrounds schemes, and taught in London. She was awarded two travelling scholarships by the Portuguese government in1977 and 1978 and lived in the Alentejo studying megalithic artefacts and monuments bordering the Guardiana river. She spent some years spinning and weaving using wool brought from the local shepherds, and this led to her involvement a project to bring back the use of natural dyes and the introduction of new designs to the Turkish rug weaving industry. In the early 1970's she worked for the painter Patrick swift at Porches Pottery, learning the techniques of Majolica painting. In 1985 she establishes her own ceramics studio on the road to Benagil, near Lagoa. She has travelled and worked in South America, North Africa, India and Ladakh. Her work has been shown in art galleries in England and Portugal.
