| Colin Figue was born in England in 1943 and studied at Ravensbourne College of Art and the Royal Academy School of Sculpture After travelling in the Middle East, Africa, and South America, he lived in Spain working under private patronage and later in Cambridge where he studied bronze casting with Michael Gillespie ARBS. He came to Portugal in 1974 to work for the renowned painter and ceramist Patrick Swift and was one of the group of international artists then in residence at the famous Porches Pottery. | |||||||||||
| In 1977 and 1978 with the support of the British Council and the Portuguese government, he worked for over a year in the marble quarries of S.O.L.U.B.E.M.A. in the marble heartland of the Alentejo He has had one-man exhibitions in Germany, Portugal, Switzerland and the USA. and Participated in International Sculpture Symposiums worldwide. He is represented with sculpture in open spaces and public collections in Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Japan, Taiwan, China, South Korea, India, Lebanon, Morocco, UAE, Turkey and Guatemala. | |||||||||||
